Customer challenges
- Expro installed 26” x 1” conductor drive pipe on seven slots using the S-90 hydraulic hammer and 350 Ton Jet String Elevator (JSE) while reaching the required depth of 130m below mudline
- Expro was able to use the 60 years of conductor driving experience and technology to help our client to overcome its previous challenges and deliver extraordinary performance and how it is a true business partner
- Along with the difficulty of running flush 26” pipe, the client faced difficulty with non-consolidated soil formations which can lead to free fall events during driving operations
- After identifying the previous issues from previously completed work in this field, Expro was able to present the JSE as a solution to the client. This solution would be able to exceed the clients overall performance objectives and improve the overall safety on the rig by allowing for hands-free handling of the string
- This project is the first conductors that Expro has driven for this customer and the first time they had been used in Brazil
Expro Excellence
- By selecting the JSE and 500 ton Air Operated Hinged Casing Spider, Expro was able to deliver hands-free operations to the client
- Managing free fall – conductors realized 30+ meters of free fall at the initial start of hammering. Regular job safety analysis, safety meetings and compliance of the red zone played a key role in preventing damage to equipment and personnel
Expro provided strong focus on HSE
Value to client
- By utilizing the JSE, enabled a hands-off operation around the rotary thus eliminating any safety risks for personnel. The JSE also saved time for fitting opposed to other methods
- Our safe and efficient operations provided the customer with a successful project without any HSE incidents
- Expro provided on the spot advice to the client to improve their operations
- The reliability of our equipment safeguarded the customer's satisfaction
