Customer challenges
- The customer was long-established to Expro with our Caspian Sea operations for the Europe and Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA) region, and were looking for us to assist in an upcoming campaign
- The customer was looking for a solution to safely regain the use of two slots on their offshore platform and to handle 30” flush pipe with hands free lifting
- By losing the use of these two slots the customer lost the associated production capabilities
- Our proven slot recovery service combined with the ability to lift flush OD conductor using our Jet String Elevator™ (JSE) provided the customer with an ideal solution
Expro Excellence
- Expro had to pull and lay out the conductor that had been cut at the seabed. This was done using our hands free JSE. A new conductor string, with a drive pipe whipstock mounted to the shoe joint, was run using the JSE
- Having stabbed into the conductor stump and orienting in the desired direction the whipstock bolts were sheared and the conductor was stabbed into the seabed. The conductor was then driven to the desired depth utilizing a hydraulic hammer
- Our solution meant that the customer regained 2 new well bores in the original platform slots to drill
- Expro safely lifted the flush OD 30” conductor with hands-free operations with our JSE
