How would you describe your management style and how has it changed over the years?
I would describe my management style as “management by walking around”. For me, this is about interacting with as much of the Expro organisation as possible in as many
locations and offices as possible. By doing this on a regular basis, I get to know the organisation and the people within it and in turn, I’m able to better manage and lead.
What is your biggest achievement to date – professional or personal?
No question, my family. My wife Vicki and I have been married 33 years, during which time we raised two children and moved 14 times or an average of every 2 ½ years, which has made for an interesting and challenging life.
What three words would you use to describe your role?
Engage the team.
What do you like most about your job?
The thing I like most about my job is the opportunity to meet and interact with as many Expro employees and customers as possible. This often entails extensive travel, which is both challenging and interesting, as I am able to learn about cultures around the world. Add to this the feeling that I am able to make an impact on the success of Expro.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
The golden rule, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
Best place in the world you’ve been to and why?
I have travelled to many places around the world and have to say that the best place is our home in the country, outside of Houston, Texas. Not only because this is home, but because it is a peaceful family retreat away from the busyness of my working world.
What is on your bucket list?
My bucket list is filled with travel goals, the first is to travel the Great Loop in the US with my wife, which is a boat trip of 6,000 miles through the major rivers and great lakes of the eastern US. The second is to visit at least 100 countries around the world, to date I have visited 68.
