CoreCure®

CoreCure® is the only technique enabling recovery of a downhole cement sample, directly from the shoe of the casing string being SeaCure® cemented.

Validating shoe integrity

Standard industry techniques of capturing cement samples during the mixing process at the drill rig only indicate one thing – the quality of the cement before it goes downhole. Expro’s CoreCure® is the only technique enabling recovery of a downhole cement sample, directly from the shoe of the casing.

CoreCure® confirms the quality of cement after it has been mixed and pumped downhole, without the need for a formation integrity test (FIT) or leak off tests (LOTs). Recovering a sample of set cement from the casing shoe is now possible, and with it, welcomes the next generation of well construction cementing validation.

Validating shoe integrity with CoreCure®

Recovering a sample of set cement beneath the SeaCure® latch-in adaptor is a reliable and repeatable way to confirm the quality of the cement around the casing shoe.

Typically, after cement is run in downhole a formation integrity test (FIT) or leak off test (LOT) would be conducted to test the strength and integrity of a new formation. CoreCure® eliminates the requirement for such a test.

CoreCure® is simple to execute. The system allows a downhole cement sample to be retained and cured at the designed downhole environment at the shoe. The sample is then recovered when the SeaCure® assembly is retrieved from the well and cored out for quality confirmation and post job analysis.

CoreCure® remains the only technique to enable recovery of a downhole cement sample directly for the shoe of the casing.

CoreCure® Value

  • Confirmation of quality primary cement job
  • Ultimate proof of regulatory compliance
  • Reduce uncertainty for leak off tests
  • Continue well operations with confidence
