Customer challenges
- Expro had a strong relationship with SDX in Egypt, as we have provided the well testing services for their first four drilled wells in South Disouq field; however, during the testing of these exploration wells they asked Expro to develop a design and strategy for their 60mmscfd gas process facilities. The main driver of this project was to deliver within the available tight time frame
- Expro was responsible for engineering, equipment procurement, project management, construction management and the operations and maintenance of their gas plant for three months. Petrojet was awarded as the main contractor, with Expro being appointed as the main project contractor
- The customer wanted to build a gas processing plant and treatment facility to condition the raw gas and achieve the national grid specifications before selling the gas to the Egyptian gas transmission company GASCO
- SDX were looking for a fast-track production solutions via modular designed packages to allow them to start and announce gas production from south Disouq field before the end of 2019
Expro Excellence
- Expro delivered a 60mmscfd gas facility with dew point control, condensate stabilisation, MEG regeneration and compression packages with all associated utilities to meet the grid specifications in 10 months
- The technical specification of the plant was designed by our production product line team of engineers, enabling the client to achieve the required gas product specifications before selling the gas to the government to avoid causing any harm to the current downstream pipeline and facilities
- Expro designed a bespoke facility equipment to the customer's requested specifications
- Our engineers were able to handle the design changes requested by the customer during the engineering and fabrication phases
- Expro successfully procured, transferred, installed, commissioned and started operating the facility within 10 months, including the shipment of different parts from around the globe while being successful in achieving the grid specifications
Value to client
- The complete project was completed in an outstanding time frame of 10 months
- Expro's modular designed package gave the client a cost-effective solution for mobilising the equipment packages, allowing future deployment at any other site if the production of any of their current wells declined
- The project had a tight budget which Expro succeeded in meeting
- The facility was designed allowing for future extensions allowing the customer to expand the facility to achieve more than double its current capacity, giving the customer a contingency plan if more wells are drilled at the site in the future
- The above solutions saved SDX a great deal of money as the whole solution was designed to be flexible and to meet the needs of increased production. The customer would have faced stock pricing pressure and profitability issues if the project was not delivered in this tight time frame
