Customer challenges
- Expro has a 10 year relationship with Bapetco as a surface well test (SWT) provider. The customer approached Expro to develop a bespoke solution for extracting excessive water produced from the SITRA field, which caused a bottleneck in Bapetco's production facility limiting the facilities to work at its full capacity. Consequently affecting the overall production and exposure risk of pipelines network corrosion
Expro Excellence
- Expro's solution involved the separation of water at the production manifolds upstream of the production facility utilising a custom designed package to extract water from the flow and dispose it away from the production grid. This solution frees up space occupied by the excess water and restores the facility to its original designed capacity
- Building a water extraction facility of this type would normally take two years. Expro delivered this project in approximately six months utilising Expro's Production Systems fast track and modular equipment approach. We used a combination of modified existing well test equipment and modular pre-fabricated and site erected equipment. This approach gave us a competitive advantage over others providing a cost-effective solution to our customer
- Engineering and pre-planning of all stages on fabrication, logistics, installation and commissioning along with close and continuous coordination with the customer were all key instrumental factors to the success of the project
Value to client
- Expro's solution enabled the extraction and disposal of 5,000 bbls of water from SITRA field production stream resulting in major financial benefits for our customer
- Debottleneck of production facility and restoring its capacity to original design providing room to handle additional production
- Protecting both production lines and production facility from the high salinity produced water, increasing the life of the facilities and reducing costs of maintenance and repair
- The customer expressed their sincere appreciation to Expro for our excellent HSE and technical performance and our remarkable HSE performance without any incidents
