Expro’s customer has adopted an environmental protection edict with the support of Algerian national authorities. The main driver is to achieve zero flaring and reduce their overall carbon footprint. Our gas compression service is the perfect fit to reach these objectives
Sonatrach tasked Expro with supplying, installing, and operating and maintaining two new gas compression facilities through an existing call-out contract aimed at boosting gas production in the Rhourde Nouss region – one of Algeria’s richest gas reserves
This objective aligned with Expro’s 2030 short-term goal of a 50% reduction in carbon intensity and the long-term vision for 2050 of achieving net-zero emissions. This will be achieved by leveraging Expro’s advanced technology and expertise to reduce global carbon emissions with the oil and gas market

Expro Excellence

Expro successfully delivered the project on the project on an accelerated schedule, completing it within 14-months. This included the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of two entirely new sites, all of which were equipped with new build equipment
Via a collaborative project execution approach between Expro and the Client, the project team was able to navigate significant global supply chain disruptions, both in-Country and in the global freight forwarding market

Thanks to Expro’s modular, standardized package designs and commitment to quality, safety, and superior project execution, the facilities were delivered on a fast-track basis. The new facilities featured gas compressors, two-phase vertical separators, oil pumping system, fuel gas system, and all other utilities
Additionally, Expro’s longstanding expertise in operations and maintenance of modular compression facilities worldwide has allowed the operations team to gain deep insights into optimizing the gas compression systems. This ensures efficiency and production uptime (greater than 98%) for the client, even in complex and challenging operational environments
