Innovative well testing solution for recovering entrained oil in evaporation pond

• The client has a long-standing relationship with Expro for well testing and well flow management services with Expro consistently demonstrating exceptional performance by proactively providing solutions to any challenges that arose
• The client has historically disposed of produced water via an evaporation process however they faced processing facility challenges, caused by elevated water production in brown fields leading to reduced oil/water separation efficiency and higher oil content in the separated water. Low separation efficiency translated into spilling of hydrocarbons into the evaporation pond and significant commercial losses from un-recovered oil

• Failure to implement a solution would have resulted in significant environmental risk for the client along with the continued manual extraction and disposal of fluids using trucks incurring ongoing costs and loss in revenue

• Recognizing Expro’s professionalism, close relationship with the client, and operational efficiency, the client approached Expro to provide a prompt solution through an existing contractual platform

• Approximately 43,000 barrels of oil (BBLS) were successfully recovered from the ponds designated for water disposal, resulting in a revenue gain of approximately 3.2 million dollars for the client (based on the oil price at that time)
