Expro in Norway: proud of our heritage and committed to Norway’s energy industry

27th August 2024

At Expro, our long association and close connections with Norway run deep and strong. Norway is part of us. Our Norwegian operations are embedded in our DNA and we’re proud to say they will remain that way.

We provide several benefits to our customers in Norway. These can be centered around three key advantage areas:

•    Improved drilling and completion efficiency and red zone management
•    Production optimization with enhanced well integrity
•    Reliable reservoir characterization and monitoring

Advancing drilling and completion efficiency and red zone safety

Our drilling and completion efficiency and red zone management capabilities are focused on high-performance drilling tools to optimize drill string performance, specialist techniques to maximize cementing placement and efficiency, and advanced tubular handling services that use remote or automated capabilities to reduce personnel in the rig’s red zone.

Right now, operators in Norway are benefitting from these capabilities. Our  iTong™ intelligent autonomous tubular running technology is currently deployed on a drilling ship in the North Sea and our Seacure® subsea cementing system is reducing cement setting and drill out times for a customer. The well bore clean up capabilities of Expro company Coretrax support risk reduction in completion operations, while the Coretrax dart-activated valve (DAV) circulating sub helps optimize hydraulics drilling performance.

Accelerating production, improving well integrity

Our production optimization strengths are extensive. We not only help customers improve the inflow performance of their wells from the reservoir to the completion, but also vertical lift, and surface production system performance. Our production optimization portfolio includes our Acumen Metering,  CoilHose™, fluids sampling and analysis, well testing services, and production solutions.

With a successful history in developing systems that help customers manage production measurement and metering, solids production, water production and treatment, gas compression, and gas and water injection, we help operators maximize value from their producing wells and assets.

Our reputation for our advanced well integrity capabilities is well known in Norway. Our solutions are built upon our world-leading well integrity management system SafeWells, and our range of well and annulus intervention technologies that enable integrity issues to be addressed before they lead to production loss or deferment. The Coretrax Core range of expandable tubular technologies enhances our well integrity strengths.

Well characterization for maximizing field development

Our reservoir characterization and monitoring services include exploration and appraisal (E&A) well testing services, fluid sampling and analysis and long-term wireless reservoir monitoring solutions. Norway continues to be one of the world’s leading E&A markets. Our long-term E&A services agreement with a major operator evidences our strong reservoir appraisal capabilities.

Join us at the ONS conference and exhibition in Stavanger, Norway, August 26-29, stand 2200

We’ve got lots more to share about our support for the Norwegian energy industry and our solutions for maximizing your operational efficiency.

We’re very proud to again support the ONS conference and exhibition, which marks its 50th anniversary. It mirrors our celebrations last year when we reached 50 years of operations in the North Sea. We’ve both seen many changes over half a century, but our commitment to Norway remains as strong as ever.

Join us at ONS in Stavanger, August 26-29, stand 2200. Our experts will be on hand to discuss how we can enhance your production optimization.
