International Women's Day (IWD) allows us to celebrate the achievements of women and promote gender equality. This year's theme, "Accelerate Action," encourages us to take meaningful steps towards equality. 

At Expro, we believe in fostering environments where women are not just included but are actively supported to grow within the business. This year, we have asked some of our female colleagues across the world to share their thoughts on accelerating action, their role models, valuable career advice, and more.

Who is your female role model or someone you admire & why?
Malala Yousafzai. I admire her especially for courage and dedication to girls' education, even in the face of extreme adversity. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact an individual can have on the world, especially when they have the courage to fight for something greater than themselves. Malala also teaches us that education is an essential tool to transform lives and societies. 

Tell us about a valuable piece of career advice you have been given?
Trust the process and be patient with yourself. Success rarely happens overnight, and every experience, even the difficult ones, is part of the journey.  

This year’s IWD theme is Accelerate Action, what does that mean to you?
It’s a call to move beyond discussions and take immediate steps towards change, whether that means advocating for policies that support women in the workplace, fighting against gender-based violence, or ensuring equal access to opportunities in education, healthcare, and leadership roles. It’s about amplifying women’s voices, breaking down barriers, and building a future where equality is the norm, not the exception. 

If you could live a day in the life of a famous female, who would it be and why?
Fernanda Torres, she’s an iconic Brazilian actress, known for her incredible versatility and talent in both film and television. 

Living her day would offer a glimpse into a life full of creativity, intellectual depth, and cultural influence. Beyond her acting career, Fernanda is admired for her sharp wit, bold personality, and the way she navigates both the entertainment industry and her personal life with elegance. it would be interesting to witness the way she engages with Brazilian culture, which plays such a significant role in her work.
