Our client in Alaska had a requirement to bring a temporarily abandoned well back online.
Project Details
Location: Alaska, Land
Well Type: Producer
Casing: 7” 26# L80
BHT:
134°F
Test Pressure: 1000psi
challenge
Prior to the reinstalment of production there was a need for a robust solution to provide isolation of water ingress, from existing perforations across a shallow formation, prior to the planned deployment of a cemented 4 ½’ liner for re-completion.
Solution
The well data was analysed and our 36ft 7” 26# OnePatch was selected as the optimal solution.
OnePatch is a ‘rig ready’ solution to isolate various wellbore integrity issues. Its compact design and simple operation enable repairs to be made efficiently, significantly reducing operational expenditure.
Achievement
Our 36ft 7” 26# OnePatch was deployed, expanded and tested successfully across the water producing zone at 6279’ to 6292.
Our post expansion ID of 5.521” outperforms any other solution on the market for this casing size, enabled optimized production liner selection, and alleviated any concerns with resultant cementing ECD’s for Liner installation.
The well was successfully recompleted and brought back on-line with zero % water production from the isolated zone.
