Problem
A U.S. based operator was experiencing a casing leak in the Bakken formation which needed to be isolated to continue fracturing operations. Due to wellbore challenges and equipment available, a coil-based solution was required.
Solution And Achievement
Coretrax deployed a 3 1/2” x 4 1/2” single joint ReLine HYD solution on coiled tubing. This unique technology helped the operator navigate wellhead pressure and surface line safety margins through lower expansion rates, when compared to other solutions.
Preparation was crucial to ensure the successful deployment and Coretrax worked with the operator to pre-set a correlation plug in advance to assist with depth correlation and ensure accurate installation. The operator then performed a cleanout run to ensure wellbore cleanliness prior to the running of the patch.
The ReLine HYD expandable tubular solution provides both short and long length isolation solutions with minimal loss of inner diameter, whilst providing high burst and collapse ratings.
The casing leak was successfully isolated, patch pressure tested and the well fracturing with readily available extended range frac-plugs.
